Hydra : The heart of the Saronic Gulf

Experience the quaint atmosphere of car-free Hydra, with its elegant mansions and fine dining options by the sea. Swim in the clear turquoise waters of Dokos, explore ancient shipwrecks, and hike amongst specacular scenery and natural beauty. 

Proposed Itinerary​

  • Depart from Athens and following a one and a half hour cruise anchor in Dokos, a very small island in the Saronic Gulf, between Hydra, Spetses, and the coastal area of Ermioni. Dokos numbers only 18 permanent inhabitants, a plethaura of archaeological findings and is a prime destination among nature lovers and hikers. There, other than a calm morning swim you can enjoy a hike in which among others you will encounter abandoned farmhouses, a castle and the renowned lighthouse dating from 1923. For the snorkel lovers, in the sea bottom close to Dokos island lies and ancient shipwreck waiting to be explored.
  • Then, after a short cruise arrive and dock in Hydra, a picturesque island is full of elegant mansions and historical points of interest. There, you can have lunch at fine restaurants by the sea and take a leasure walk afterwards. The fact that there are no cars allowed on the island keep the atmosphere as quaint and serene as it can gets. 
  • In the afternoon, before departing to Athens, stop by and enjoy the majesty of the Tselevinia islands – Skylli and Spathi – located at the eastern part of Peloponnisos a few miles away from Spetses. They are known for their crystal-clear waters, lush greenery, and serene natural beauty making them a great place to enjoy an afternoon drink. At the one hour journey back to Athens, enjoy a stunning sunset creating a perfect finale to your trip.
